shaneWe’re ten days out from the NMRA Spring Break Shootout scheduled for Bradenton Motorsports Park over the weekend of March 7-9, 2014, and the hitters in every class are readying their machines for competition, putting the finishing touches on, and packing up the trailers to get out of the bitter cold the northern half of the country has seen this winter.

One of those competitors, 2013 Coyote Stock champion Shane Stymiest, will have his hands full this year, as there are a number of competitors both new and old that will be trying to eat his lunch on every pass. Stymiest held the 2013 class elapsed time record last year with a 10.38, achieved at the Maryland International Raceway stop on the tour, and has been vocal about his chances to repeat his title reign during the 2014 season.

carlosCarlos Sobrino, although new to Coyote Stock this year, has two NMRA Factory Stock championships to his credit. Sobrino shared his sentiments on entering Coyote Stock competition with us in the past and is excited to get out on the track on slicks and make the most with the least, which is what Coyote Stock  is all about.

Both competitors rely on sponsorship from parts retailer Rick Riccardi at Downs Ford Motorsport among others to provide them with the equipment necessary to run at the top of the pack, Downs Ford is one of the leaders in providing turn-key Coyote Stock packages and just about any other performance product under the sun – they can set you up with each part you’ll need from the engine to control pack to headers and k-member to make everything line up properly in the car and start on the first turn of the key.

Riccardi remarked, “We have sold kits to nearly half the competitors in this class, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone out on the track with them this season. We don’t just do Coyote Stock – Open Comp racer Saul Walker has been purchasing a large number of parts from us this offseason to be ready for the first event.”

Downs Ford Motorsport is a huge supporter of the NMRA and even sponsors the Maryland International Raceway event on the six-race tour, where they will have a trailer full of parts for purchase. For more information on the complete lineup of parts offered by Downs Ford Motorsport, check out their website or simply give Rick a call at (800) 757-6909.
