The chassis dyno has become as big of a part of the performance world as the track. While the track does offer real world performance, the dyno shows owners what their car has the potential to do. It also ends the debate about how much power part, x, y, or z will add to a particular combination.

If you live in SoCal and you’ve never been on the dyno, or you just want to see how your car stacks up against a few others of the same or different brands, you’re in luck. Granatelli Motorsports is holding their next dyno-day on Saturday, September 21.

This is more than just a day to find out what your car will run though. GMS will be holding contests between the brands to determine who can make the most power. They’ll also have a power adder shootout, to settle the debate of turbo, blower, or nitrous -at least at this event. There’s even a 4 vs 6 vs 8 cylinder competition.

Registering for the event will cost $65, and you can save $10 by pre-registering ahead of time. If you, or your buddy have something with all wheel drive and want to bring it out, that requires pre-registration, and there are only 3-spots available.

GMS will also be offering discounts on their entire selection of parts, with installation, which covers a wide variety of vehicles whether you’re a Ford or a Brand X fan. GMS will also photograph, and video each car, and will feature that on their web-site.

The event runs from 8am until 5pm, if there are still paid registered cars waiting at 5, the staff will stay until those cars have had their turn on the dyno as well. You can pre-register via this link, and for more information check out the Granatelli Motorsports web-site.
