With just over one week until the NMRA hits the track in Bradenton, Florida, for its season-opening 19th Annual Nitto Tire Spring Break Shootout, competitors are thrashing in their garages trying to get their machines ready for a 2013 season debut. The NMRA’s Strange Engineering Coyote Stock class is one of the divisions that has generated the most buzz over the long winter, as its crate-engine roots and reasonable cost of entry have become very attractive to racers looking for a place to race heads-up while containing costs. Interest in the class has been skyrocketing since the top players were able to run in the 10.50’s at the season-ending race in Bowling Green last October. With that in mind, the NMRA’s Technical Department wanted to clear up an oversight to the rules-making process before anyone loaded up to leave for Florida.

Their statement is as follows:
Effective Immediately—Due to an oversight in the rule making process an important part of the engine ignition system was overlooked. After consulting Ford Racing, we feel the rules need to be clarified and we apologize for any inconvenience this might make being so close to the first race. Several racers have not made this modification but there were some questions regarding it. Thank You and see everyone in Florida!
The following parts are the only NMRA and Ford Racing approved parts for use.
