No matter what the law states about street racing, there are folks that are going to do it and some of those folks are going to do it rather poorly. We’re always coming across stories of street race failures and here is yet another one to add to the archive. We won’t get to find out who won this battle of the cylinders because both drivers were too caught up in the moment to see that there was something looming up ahead, something quite big. They supposedly chose a long driveway near their work place as the setting for the showdown. After getting caught up in the race, they crossed a road and both ended up smashed up against a West Dallas county building.
Nobody was killed, however, the Cadillac CTS driver was seriously injured. You know
the Mustang driver is feeling it too. He may be sore, but now knowing that his Mustang is totaled and his friend is seriously hurt, he’s probably feeling pretty humbled. It ought to be a lesson to those who choose long dark driveways as a race track. They could have saved their cars, themselves, and their pride by going to the drag strip and settling it with the fastest quarter mile. Sometimes you just get too caught up in the moment to stop for any reason. I guess that’s okay, as long as something stops you, even if it is a big, immovable building.
