It’s Mustang Girl Monday brought to you by Team Mustang Girls! Meet Kelsey Zimmerman.
She is an active duty member of the United States Army and owner of a red ’99 V6 Mustang. Zimmerman grew up on fords, “I loved the look and sound, I’m all about American made, and Mustang is the best pony car by all standards.” As a child Zimmerman watched her Dad work on a 68 Mercury Cyclone, the Cyclone was nice but she fell in love with the sea foam green Mustang he was using as a parts car!
In the winter of 2011 Zimmerman flew home to Montana while on leave. She only bought a one way ticket because she had plans to buy a Mustang and drive it back to Virginia where she was stationed.
After a lot of searching and learning it’s really hard to find a Mustang in Montana during the winter she finally found her car. It was also her first time driving a stick shift and it must have been fate because she fell in love with it. Today, with the help of her fellow mustang friends she is racing at the drag strip and working on her own car.
Zimmerman’s love of Mustangs has crossed continents. Last summer she was deployed to Kuwait. The things she missed most were driving and Mustangs. Some Mustang in the sky must have read her mind because the Mustang Club of Kuwait showed up for a car show on her post!  For those who don’t know American muscle cars are becoming increasingly popular throughout the Middle-East, especially Mustangs. “Even when I was lonely and far from home I felt like I still had my Mustang,” says Zimmerman.
