A Dark Highland Green Bullitt won’t be the only way to celebrate. That’s because the new Need For Green paint is an option on the 2019 Mustang, and it looks mean.

“This is a color Mustang fans will celebrate because of its confident and youthful attitude,” Barbara Whalen, Ford color and materials manager, explained. “Need for Green is vibrant and jumps out at you, giving Mustang owners a look that definitely stands out in a crowd.”

Indeed it does. We recently got a peek at the new green paint scheme as an example was parked outside a media event at the Ford Product Development Center. And, unlike the public relations images Ford shared, the new green is quite vivid in the sunlight. In fact, it’s a lot closer to the popular and striking Gotta Have It Green available on the later S197 Mustangs, like the Boss 302, than it would seem in those ethereal promotional images.

According to Ford, the Need For Green paint option is available across the complete 2019 Mustang lineup starting this summer.

Either way, Need Ford Green, which was recently announced as one of three ‘vintage-inspired’ colors available on the 2019 California Special, will be available this summer across the ‘entire’ 2019 Mustang line, so we would assume you might eventually be able to make people green with envy by ordering a 2019 Shelby GT350 or Shelby GT500 in this hue…
