With nearly 1,800 vehicles on the show grounds, it’s tough to not only see all the engines but pick out 80 that really catch your eye.

That was EngineLabs‘ assignment at the 29th annual Fabulous Fords Forever show held April 27, 2014, at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. More than 50 classes were set up for the show vehicles, ranging from the first Model T to the latest F-150 pickup. This year the show recognized the 75th anniversary of the Mercury brand and the 55th anniversary of the Ford Galaxie. The guests of honor however, were all the Mustangs there celebrating 50 years of the iconic ponycar. Officials said that nearly 900 Mustangs were registered for the show, certainly making it one of the largest collection of Mustangs in the country. Many attending the show got their first look at the upcoming 2015 Mustang. Also, a number of special dignitaries were hand, including Henry Ford III, the first lady of racing Linda Vaughn and racecar drivers Scott Pruett, George Follmer, Parnelli Jones, and Butch Leal. 

The variety of vehicles stretched from survivor to full custom, from mild restoration to full race and from nostalgic street mods to late-model wizardry. We found 4-cylinder, 6-cylinder and just about every type of stock and modified 8-cylinder. Wish we could provide build details on all the engines showcased here, but you’ll have to use you own sharp eye and imagination.
