Last year American Muscle held their first ever Mustang Mayhem. This dyno competition pitted some of the baddest Mustangs in the country against one another to see who could pull the biggest numbers on AM’s in-house Dynojet.
To mix it up a little AM is changing the rules this year and making Mustang Mayhem a team competition. It will be GT500 vs Coyote. So the baddest Coyote powered Mustangs on the planet will be duking it out against the baddest bolt-on GT500s for dyno supremacy.
Eight cars will be selected from entries received before February 21, three of them will be ’07-12 GT500s, one will be a ’13-’14 GT500, and then 3 5.0 Coyote powered ’11-’14 GTs and one BOSS 302 thrown in for good measure. The selected contestants will get their chance to show what they’ve got on April 4, 2014 at American Muscle’s headquarters.
The selection of cars should make it a close competition. While some may balk that a GT500 already has an advantage over a Coyote, we’ve seen plenty of 5.0s putting down power that could shame a GT500.
All participants will get a $75 gift car to AM, and members of the winning team will each receive a $150 gift card. There will be plenty of free food and drinks, some AM swag, and of course the AM crew and guys from BAMA chips will be around for the day to talk, hang out, and enjoy this festival of horsepower. We’re sure there’ll be some parking lot burnouts and other antics that the AM guys are known for as well.
So if you think your 5.0 or GT500 has what it takes to represent their badge, and take on some of the baddest Mustangs in the country, you need to fill out the entry form at this link right now. We’ll find out after April 4 who walked away with the bragging rights.
