Billy has converted his Pro Stock GTO over to run on 10.5 W tires with one of his small block Ford motors on nitrous. Glidden has been running in the 4.20’s at the ADRL events. At the last three ADRL events, Billy has been number one qualifier, set the record and has two wins. A problem with the clutch kept him from having a chance at the third victory. After the last ADRL event Billy went to St Louis to test tires for Mickey Thompson. I believe this is the first time the GTO has been run a quarter mile with the small block and 10.5W’s. The results are pretty amazing with the best time being a 6.51 and the best mph at 214. All of this done with his single carb and cast intake and two nitrous systems. His sixty foot times were in the 1.00 range and eighth mile times were 4.23 and 4.25. The quarter mile times were 6.51 and 6.56 at mph’s of 211 and 214. There will be more testing at Gateway for Billy and many NHRA teams that are getting ready for Indy.

Billy has also confirmed he has been working with one of the old big block Ford he has laying around the shop. He has had the 496 cubic inch motor with hemi heads on the dyno already. The numbers look promising but it hurt some parts, so it will be a little while before he has time to get it repaired and tested. It will be very interesting to see what Billy will run with another 100 plus cubic inches, sheet metal intake and two carbs.
