Can you call a car ‘bone-stock’ if it has a pair of aftermarket lowering springs on it? Maybe, maybe not – it all depends on where you draw the line. But if a relatively stock 2012 Boss 302 is on your holiday wish list, one has recently hit the market.
The ‘Stang is brought to us West Coast Exotics. Ironically enough, this dealer happens to be right down the street from our mothership. Sure, we could take it for a test drive, give you a nice review, and so-on – but why spoil the fun for you?
This Boss is after all, available for auction right now. In fact, as of this article, bidding sits right at $22,000 on Bring A Trailer – a steal for a Boss 302 Mustang with just 13,000-plus original miles on its odometer.
On with the show. This Boss 302, powered by none other than the 5.0-liter RoadRunner V8, is good for 444 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque from the factory. Filled with a forged rotating assembly and a matching pair of CNC ported DOHC cylinder heads from the factory, this Coyote cousin is stout enough for track duty even by today’s standards. You may say that those performance figures aren’t impressive, now that the GT350 has been out for a few years, but we employ you to revisit the Boss if you will.
Remember, these cars were only made for two years (2012 and 2013). And, if you can score this one for less than $30,000, the sky’s the limit if you feel like modifying one. Check out the original auction here for more information on this rare machine.
