The tiny Arab oil-sheik-owned country of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is home to some of the world’s most extravagant items, from the incredible Burj Khalifa building, billed as the world’s tallest man-made structure, to some incredible drag racing held at the Emirates Motorplex, just an hour away from the world-class city.
Word has come down that the rich folks over there have decided to soup up the city’s police force, and we’ve recently found a couple of images of a ROUSH Mustang dressed in police gear including the flashy lights and markings of a car designed to chase down some of the fastest cars in the land. Not only have they outfitted a ROUSH for chase duty, there’s also a BMW M6 Gran Coupe, and even a Bugatti Veyron on order.
We’re not sure how much crime really happens over there, but there was definitely a huge street racing scene at one time filled with Skylines, Lambos and the like – most of which now take to the track at the Emirates Motorplex thanks to a large investment by Sheikh Marwan al-Mualla, son of the ruler of Umm al Qaywayn (one of the seven Emirates) and the chairman of the Emirates Motor Sports Foundation.
We can say for sure that the 2013 ROUSH is a far cry from the old SSP Fox Mustangs, which were little more than flimflam rattletraps with a big engine and shotgun rack installed. We’re also not sure just how many donuts an officer could get away with consuming inside a $70,000 cop car, how do you explain the crumbs to the boss?
