A couple of weeks ago we told you about this car that’s being constructed by DynoJoe Performance down in Houston, Texas. We heard from Joe today and he updated on the build’s progress, which is under the gun at this point as the team is trying to make the NMRA’s season-opening race at Bradenton Motorsports Park over the second weekend in March. The 2011 Mustang GT body has been transformed by the DynoJoe team along with Mark Bannert, the paint-and-body whiz that’s tuned up the color and 2013 body panels at Collision Craftsman, also in Houston.
The car has been returned from the body shop to DynoJoe Performance, where the 4R70W transmission from Circle D Performance has been mocked up and the Strange Engineering 9″ rearend/Team Z Motorsports rear suspension system have been installed. In addition, the dash has been trimmed around the roll cage, Dunne Rite Performance whipped up a custom wiring harness to mimic the Cobra Jet’s, and Baer SS4 front and rear brakes have been fitted to the chassis. They’ve got a custom set of Comp Cams grinds to go into the engine, and F.A.S.T.‘s XFI will be controlling the engine package. DynoJoe’s proprietor, Joe Cram, was quick to credit a close working relationship with Jesse Kershaw and the folks at Ford Racing Parts for some of the information, tricks, and tips involved with the creation of this machine. The NMRA’s season opener starts in 15 days and Cram assures us this car will be there and ready to rock and roll. We’ll be there to see it in person, will you?
