The 2014 Shelby GT500 is an amazing car, with 662 hp on tap, it’s the most powerful production Mustang ever built. Sadly, some of these cars have a short life at the hands of their owners, as is the case with this particular car. This one had just over 600 miles on the odometer, when it was involved in a crash, which severely damaged the front end.
The car was sold wrecked at an auto auction, where a customer of The Mustang Shop in Auburn, Washington, placed the winning bid. That customer wasn’t planning to rebuild the high end Shelby, instead, he was going to use the car as a complete donor.
Complete donor in this case doesn’t mean just donating the engine, transmission, and some wiring. This particular customer chose to transplant nearly everything from the car, including the drivetrain, interior, suspension, brakes, etc. The car is down to a bare shell with only its doors, glass, and carpet remaining. All other components have been completely removed.
There is some collision damage to the front frame rails and engine compartment sheet metal, but TMS is auctioning this car as a shell on eBay, item number 221630476924. The car would make a great foundation for a race car build, whether you plan to go in a straight line, or around corners.
This was a real GT500 track pack, and the salvage title, and appropriate paperwork are included to get this car transferred in pretty much any state. You could rebuild it to street going status again, although that would take considerable effort. Seeing this shell, and seeing its current bid of a reasonably low price when compared to something like a body in white, gives us all kinds of project ideas. What kind of racer would you build with this body?
