Since the Ford Mustang has become in many ways a symbol of America itself, the car easily lends itself to celebratory customization, especially when it comes to all-American sports like baseball or football. Down in Alabama, they take football very seriously, and since they haven’t got any professional football teams (though they do have a women’s league) all the pressure tends to fall on collegiate shoulders.
Good thing they’ve got the Auburn Tigers, who this year defeated the mighty Oregon Ducks in the BCS bowl. To celebrate, someone went through the trouble of extensively customizing a 2011 Ford Mustang GT in the Tiger’s blue and orange theme, and now this heavily customized vehicle is up on eBay for some enthusiastic fan or generous alumni to snatch up.
There are just 37 miles on this blue and orange beauty, and the color customization has been carried out through the entire car. We can definitely dig the orange stripes and the flaky blue paint. The football-colored seats with the University of Auburn logo are pretty snazzy too. The only thing we don’t care for is the blue-ball shifter knob. It just looks…uncomfortable, though that’s easy enough to swap out.
Along with the purchase of this essentially brand new Mustang GT is an autographed football from the coach of the Championship Tigers, Gene Chizik. There are other little details that set this Mustang apart too (as if the Auburn theme wasn’t enough.) A throaty Roush exhaust system has been installed, as well as black aftermarket wheels and a 1-inch lowering kit. If you are a Mustang fan and a University of Auburn fan, then this might just be the right ride for you.
