The motorcycle drift battle video featuring the Police SVT Cobra has created a tidal wave throughout the Mustang enthusiast community this past week where it flooded multiple blogs and Facebook pages. It starts off with two motorcyclists drifting through the curvy roads of Oregon on a closed course, of course. Not long into the video, a SVT Cobra decked out in police badges and sirens takes off after them in an epic drift battle. If you haven’t watched it yet, you really should.
If you have watched it and you cannot get enough of that drifting Cobra, it is now up for bids on eBay with about 4 days left to go and about 85,000 on the odometer. The starting bid is at $25k with a “Buy Now” price of $50k. This SVT Cobra was custom built for pro-am drifting and the ICON video by Guthrie Racing and Car Crafters in Albuquerque, NM.
They planned on keeping the car throughout 2012 but after the amazing popularity that it gained over the internet, ICON is giving somebody a chance to actually own it. Not to worry though, there will be another build for the next video. And no worries, this wasn’t the car that flipped at the end of the video. That was a Nissan 240SX camera car.
The SVT Cobra was dyno tested and put down a healthy 490-HP with 490 ft.-lbs. of torque. It’s equipped with a 4-point roll cage with Sparco seats featuring 5-point seatbelts. It also has a completely modified and custom suspension.
Details on the engine include upgraded fuel injectors, Terminator throttle body and a custom x-pipe exhaust with no cats or mufflers that stop just past rear axle making it legal for any drift organization. It also features a custom air intake with a port and polished supercharger, billet pulley system for 12+ pounds of boost, an AC compressor eliminator, Aeromotive fuel pump with return system for constant high pressure and an MSD 2-step rev-limiter.
This bad boy also has a lot of cooling options plus the stock interior has been completely eliminated and replaced with aftermarket parts. The stock steering wheel has been replaced with a quick release racing wheel. The police lights, ignition, starter, wipers, fuel pump, and fans are all on a custom carbon dash panel as well as the boost gauge, water temp gauge and oil pressure gauge. All of the original stock parts are included just in case the buyer would want to sell the car as a non-race car. For even more information and modifications check out the eBay listing for the brakes, suspension, cooling, etc.
