We Mustang fans love our special editions here in the states, but now that our favorite pony car is trotting around the globe, the rest of the world is getting in on the act. Yesterday at its Go Further event in Cologne, Germany, Ford of Europe revealed a one-two punch of new Mustang packages—leaving them black and blue in a good way.
Special edition Ford Mustangs have been an important part of the Mustang story
“The Ford Mustang has no trouble standing out on European roads, and with the new Ford Mustang Black Shadow Edition and Blue Edition models, Mustang drivers will be turning even more heads,” Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford of Europe, said. “Special edition Ford Mustangs have been an important part of the Mustang story for more than 50 years, and now customers in Europe can play their own part in the iconic car’s rich special edition history.”
Likewise, the Black Shadow Edition can be had on the EcoBoost Mustang or Mustang GT, but it includes a number of special blacked treatments including badging, stripes and 19-inch Y-spoke wheels. Both variants are available for order on either the Mustang GT or EcoBoost platform, but neither offers any performance upgrades. Of the two packages, the Black Shadow Edition carries more additional content, including a black Pony emblem in the grille, exclusive black 19-inch wheels, dissolve-effect black stripes and black 5.0 badges (if you order a GT).
Obviously the Mustang Blue Edition is only available in Grabber Blue, but the Black Shadow treatment can be applied with Platinum White, Triple Yellow, Race Red or Grabber Blue paint.
