Henrik Fisker’s name in recent years has been tied to his failed hybrid car manufacturer. A car that was endorsed by celebrities and beautifully styled, the company simply couldn’t or didn’t for whatever reason deliver.
Fisker, however, remains one of the iconic automotive stylists of our time, penning the lines of cars like the BMW Z8. We mentioned in our SEMA coverage of Galpin Auto Sports (GAS), that GAS was hinting at an upcoming Wide Body S550 project, which was designed by Fisker.
More information has been released regarding that car which will be debuting at the LA Auto Show, in the form of a rendering put out by Fisker. This rendering, and Fisker saying he’s been working with GAS on the “Ultimate American Muscle Car”, combined with our conversation with GAS at SEMA, confirm this is a Widebody 2015 Mustang.
GAS has produced plenty of wide body and wild Mustangs in the past. From this rendering, we can see a few cues take from those cars, including the side scoop vents. We know this car will debut at the LA Auto Show next week, and we’ll be there to cover the specifics. It undoubtedly will have a Ford Racing or Whipple supercharger under the hood, and we suspect a host of other serious modifications from GAS to give it more than enough go to match its styling.
We’ll bring you more as soon as this car debuts in LA next week.
