Holley EFI Systems Standing Out In Class Racing

Despite the fact that the last carbureted vehicle for the American market went down an Isuzu assembly line eighteen years ago in 1994, electronic fuel injection has not been accepted as readily in the racing community as many classes still mandate the use of carburetors. The NMRA’s EFI Renegade class, however, is exactly the opposite – carburetors are verboten and the laptop is king. After the demise of the NMRA’s old Real Street class, multi-time champion Tim Matherly decided to step up into the EFI Renegade ranks, which necessitated a number of changes to his program.

Since he was no longer forced through his class rules to work with a factory computer like in Real Street and could step up to an aftermarket system, he made the decision to go with one of Holley’s Dominator engine management systems in each of his team cars for the 2012 EFI Renegade season and was very pleased with the operation and ease-of-use the system offered him on race day. Matherly raves about the Dominator EFI system‘s performance.

The Holley Dominator line of electronic fuel injection engine management systems can be used on just about any internal combustion engine and offers incredible control of many engine parameters. It provides adjustments for external add-ons like methanol injection, includes a pair of built-in wideband oxygen sensors, and provides many programmable input and outputs – basically, if you can control it with electricity, there’s probably a way to make the Dominator control it for you.  Whether your fast Ford is turbo- or supercharged, even nitrous-injected, the Dominator line of fuel injection systems can make your life a lot simpler by handling all of the little details. For more information, log on to the Holley EFI homepage.
