SMS Supercars, Steve Saleen’s current enterprise, has released new photos of their 2010 SMS 460 Mustang. The 4.6-liter V8 engine is rated at 470 flywheel HP and 460 lb-ft. of torque, courtesy of a Saleen spec’d twin screw supercharger. The requisite 20-inch chrome rims carry 275/35ZR20 Pirelli P Zero rubber, backed up by extensive suspension mods.

Despite the departure of Steve Saleen from the company bearing his name, it is plain that car modification and performance is still in his blood, and that long-time automotive designer Phil Frank has moved over with Steve. Clearly seen in the views here, Frank has blended some older themes with totally new lines to create a familiar, yet freshened restyling of the latest Mustang.
For the first time I can think of – certainly in a North American car – the rear fascia changes include a Formula 1 inspired rain light. Interior enhancements include updated leather seating with suede inserts and Saleen logo instrument cluster.
Production of this model will be limited to 25 units, though it is hard to see them being scooped up, with 2011 Mustang 5.0’s being delivered as we speak.
