It appears that thanks to some rules changes for the 2015 season, the NMRA’s Renegade class will be seeing several newcomers this year. The latest to throw their hat in the ring is Brian “Iceman” Devilbiss, and his seven-second Devil’s Reject GT500. Fred Cook over at Evolution Performance turned us on to a video put together to announce that Devilbiss is making the switch to Renegade, and ready to compete for the title.

The GT500 will be getting updated for the 2015 season to meet the NMRA rules, but we expect to still see a Precision Turbo and L&M power under the hood. The car still runs a Lund tuned factory ECU, and there’s little doubt that’s where the tune for the Renegade setup will come from. Of course all of the work, prep, and support will be handled by Cook and his team over at Evolution Performance.

Devilbiss has already been well into the seven-second zone in NMRA competition, although that wasn’t in official Renegade trim. While high-seven’s are still the number to beat, and no small task to accomplish, we have little doubt the Evolution Performance team will be thrashing the rest of the winter to get the car to the top of the field.

Current plans call for the car to make its official Renegade debut at the NMRA’s 21st annual Spring Break Shootout this March. You can be sure we’ll be on hand to cover the race, and witness the action frist hand. It looks like the 2015 Renegade season just got a lot more interesting.
