When modifying your Mustang, some people say that the V8 is the only way to go when it comes to making a high-performance track car. Sometimes you can’t help but wonder if they’ve heard of these new and improved Mustang six cylinder making 305 hp while still getting over 30 miles per gallon. Almost seems to be too good to be true, but it’s the truth and it’s definitely good.
It feels good to shut up some of those high and mighty 5-liter owners when the V6 outperforms some of the V8s present. This 2011 Procharged 3.7-liter V6 tears up the quarter mile in a super impressive 11.11 seconds at 124 mph. According to the Facebook page, besides a Procharger, this Yellow Blaze bad boy features C&L Induction, BBK Long Tubes, BBK Cat, X-pipe connected to Magnaflow Cat-back exhaust, and an SCT SF3 flasher. The owners, Central Florida Motorsports, tests and develops aftermarket products for the 3.7-liter V6 Mustang. They are the fastest to date in a 3.7-L V6 Mustang, with American Muscle not far behind with their V6 the first to reach the 11’s.
Most companies seem to put all of their focus on the 5-liter V8 when it comes to providing aftermarket performance parts for Mustangs. However, it looks like the V6 is making quite the name for itself at the track. Thanks to people like Central Florida Motorsports and AmericanMuscle.com, we can have faith in buying aftermarket performance products for the V6 underdog.
What do you think of this V6 making 11.20 seconds in the 1/4 mile?
