Rally driver Ken Block has become something of an international phenomena, thanks in no small part to his exceptional driving skills and ability to market himself to the hilt. What has made him really, really popular though are his series of Gymkhana driving videos. While the first two featured his trademark Subaru WRX, the third installment had Block behind the wheel of a new 650 horsepower, all-wheel drive Ford Fiesta.
Gymkhana 3 came out back in September, but that doesn’t mean we got enough Gymkhana goodness. So Block and his crew have released a second helping of Gymkhana 3 with all different angles that give us a better idea of what went into making and filming this motorsports masterpiece.
The new Gymkhana 3: Part II video features all different angles that we haven’t seen before, with a picture-in-picture view of the original video for comparison. It gives us a whole new appreciation for Blocks driving skills as he scales the steep walls of the l’Autodrome de Linas in Linas, France. We also have to admire the sheer balls of the cameramen who were mere feet away from the fast-driving Fiesta as Block blew past them.
Our natural inclination would be to run away or duck behind some nearby guardrail, but not these guys. They stood there, still as stone, catching all the action so we could enjoy it. Some of our favorite new views came from inside the cockpit of Block’s Fiesta. There is something mesmerizing about the way his hands fly across the steering wheel and yank the shifter at just the right moment. So if you liked any of the previous Gymkhana videos (and we know you did) make sure you check out the entirety of Gymkhana 3: Part II.
