The pot (and maybe even the plot) continues to thicken for the upcoming 17th annual Holcomb Motorsports Spring Civil Wars at the Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina, which kicks off on March 30 and continues with two days of qualifying and concludes with eliminations on April 1.

Recently it was announced that thanks to a number of new sponsors – not the least of which was the addition of Baer Brakes – the X275 category would now have a lucrative $10,000 check up for grabs.

In recent conversation with event promoter Ken Holcomb, additional purse increases through sponsorship were forthcoming, and among those was the recent announcement that Outlaw Drag Radial/True 10.5 would compete for a rather sizable $7,500 winners purse, which is already calling out to some of the biggest names on the East coast. The goal of the Holcomb’s of course is an even $10,000, thus sponsorship to fill that gap is still being sought as we run up to the kickoff of the Spring Civil Wars.

The always exciting Outlaw Radial versus True 10.5 category is open to legit 29.5 x 10.5 slicks and 315/60/15 drag radial tires only. Back half cars are permitted, as is any engine combination, suspension, and the use of methanol. Like full tube cars, sissy sticks (wheelie bars) are prohibited.
