Located in in Boulder, CO, the Shelby American Collection will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a special event on August 6th, focusing on the Cobra-Ferrari Wars that defined the zenith of the American auto industry in the 1960s.

“The Cobra-Ferrari Wars represent one of the greatest chapters in American automobile history,” said Shelby American Collection President Steve Volk. “Our anniversary party celebrates this history, and brings together the cars and drivers of the 1965 Shelby American team that secured the World Sportscar Manufacturers Championship for the first and only time.”

Present at the show will be two of the most significant cars in Shelby’s quest for the World Championship: the CSX 2299, the Le Mans/Sebring/Daytona-winning Cobra Daytona Coupe and CSX 2345, the SPA/ Sierra-Montana/Tourist Trophy/Rossfeld Hillclimb-winning FIA Cobra Roadster.

Attendees will also have the opportunity the participate in a special autograph session with the world championship team drivers Bob Bondurant, Jack Sears, Allen Grant, Lew Spencer, Tom Yeager and artist Bill Neale of Shelby Terlingua fame. An outdoor vintage car show and live 1960’s music will also be running.

All proceeds will benefit the Shelby American Collection by aiding in the restoration and preservation of the classic cars, and helping fund museum operations. The event will be held on Aug. 6th from 4p.m.- 9p.m. at the Museum located at 5020 Chaparral Court in Boulder. Online ticketing for the event is available here.
