Ford GTs are already rare machines, but for prospective owners with an appreciation of Blue Oval history, Ford is offering something special. In celebration of the GT40 Mark IV race car that Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt drove to victory back in 1967, Ford is releasing a ’67 Heritage Edition of the 2018 Ford GT. It features several unique styling cues that harken back to the race winner.
Continuing with a 2018 Ford GT based on the winning GT40 Mark IV race car was simply something we needed to do. — Garen Nicoghosian, Ford“The first Heritage edition car was a huge success, honoring our history with a modern interpretation of the Le Mans winner,” Garen Nicoghosian, exterior design manager of the Ford GT, said. “Continuing with a 2018 Ford GT based on the winning GT40 Mark IV race car was simply something we needed to do.”
Sprayed in Race Red, the ’67 Heritage Edition sports a Frozen White livery, including Number 1 graphics on the hood and doors. This edition also features wheels with a unique, clear-coated satin silver finish accented by black lug nuts. The theme continues with red brake calipers and silver mirror caps.
