Europe Gets Its Own Special Focus RS Package

While the North American Focus RS run is ending with the 2018 Limited Edition Focus RS, Europe gets a similar package, dubbed the Focus RS Option Pack. This package features many of the same upgrades upgrades, but is only available in Nitrous Blue. This option doesn’t appear to be part of a limited run across the pond.

“Our new Focus RS Option Pack represents accessible performance at its finest,” Leo Roeks, in the newly created position of Ford Performance Director, Europe, said. “Improving on the class-leading driving dynamics of the Focus RS was no small task – but our Ford Performance engineers have delivered a drivetrain capable of wringing every drop of performance from the 350 PS EcoBoost engine.”

This package also includes the limited-slip diff, which helps wring out that performance.

“For hardcore driving enthusiasts, the additional mechanical grip offered by the Quaife LSD will make it even easier to carry speed through a corner on the track, and maximize acceleration on the way out. The new setup also delivers greater mechanical stability and control when braking hard, and will help drivers set the car up for power-slides using Drift Mode,” Leo added. “The Focus RS Option Pack takes our ‘fun to drive’ philosophy to a new level for an everyday road car.”

Like its North American counterpart, the European Focus RS Option Pack includes a black roof and black mirrors, but they are matte finish. Likewise, to highlight its Nitrous Blue exterior, the brake calipers and Recaro seats are accented in the exclusive hue.

So, whichever side of the pond you are on, the Focus RS has some exciting new options.
