On the precipice of the FIA World Rallycross season kicking off this weekend in Barcelona, Spain, Hoonigan Racing Division revealed the new liveries for its Ford Performance 2017 Focus RS RX racers driven by Ken Block and his teammate Andreas Bakkerud.
As we have come to expect from the Hoonigans, the new liveries are striking. Designed in concert with United Kingdom artist David Gwyther of Death Spray Custom, these schemes combine the look of bolts and have a three-dimensional aspect in the patterns, which are embellished with the team’s signature sayings “Kill All Tire” and “Ain’t Care.”

Every year, we here at Hoonigan Racing and Hoonigan Industries try and make the best racecar liveries in the world of motorsports — Ken Block, Hoonigan Racing Division“Every year, we here at Hoonigan Racing and Hoonigan Industries try and make the best racecar liveries in the world of motorsports,” Ken Block explained. “We’ve been able to keep it moving forward with what we do and we’re always trying to align our liveries with amazing graphics and artists so that it translates in a dope way to become a visually appealing and unique looking racecar on the track—and therefore will make fresh apparel with Hoonigan, and other awesome products with our other partners.”
“I’ve been a fan of David’s work for some time and I’m stoked that we were able to work together on this year’s livery,” he added. “It’s great to have him be a part of our collective history as a race team.”
The electric styling deftly works in the litany of Hoonigan sponsor logos — which include Alpinestars, Can-Am, Ford Motor Company, fifteen52, Hoonigan, HPI Racing, GoPro, Monster Energy, Pennzoil, Sonax, ST Suspensions, and Toyo Tires — and still carries the style of the artist and the Hoonigans.

In 2017 it seemed fitting to misspend my time with Ken Block and the Hoonigan team. — David Gwyther, Death Spray Custom“I misspent my youth by being crammed in the back of an early Ford Escort, chasing rally stages all over the UK,” said David (Death Spray Custom). “In 2017 it seemed fitting to misspend my time with Ken Block and the Hoonigan team.”
If you dig the style of the new liveries, some of Ken’s partners will soon offer gear and apparel that incorporates elements of these designs. More importantly, the two cars will be in action in the 2017 World RX championship. If you can’t travel the world to see these exciting races, you can stream them live on the Ford Performance Facebook page in the United States and on the FIA World Rallycross site in the rest of the world starting on April 2 in Spain.
