PRI-ProForm-100Shift timing is far easier when you can see and adjust the shift points for each gear in the transmission, and the guys at PROFORM are here to help with that task. What they have for you is their new digital programmable shift light. But to label it a shift light is to miss some neat features, as our product guide, Booth Platt, explained.

“What you have here is a digital mini shiftlight and diagnostic tachometer all in one. How it works is it detaches from the base, and then you set it to how many cylinders you have, up to twelve, dial in your RPMs, and it acts like a normal shift light.”

Users can program the light to come on whenever they want, Booth said. And versatility certainly seems to be the crux of PROFORM’s latest innovation, as Platt went on to explain more about the light:

“When you’re ready to go, it’s facing you from wherever you want–your dash, steering column, visor, et cetera. Now, if you’re underneath the hood, doing a little work on your carburetor, let’s say, and you want to know what your tachometer is reading, you can actually remove this and put up against the windshield and do all the work by yourself.”

The light uses an easy three-wire hookup, has universal support, and comes in at an easy $69.99. This definitely makes the shift light an appealing tool for enthusiasts of all stripes once it becomes available next Spring.
