Classic Ford compacts maintain a passionate following among vintage muscle car fans across the globe. The 1976 Custom Maverick Super from BTS Garage shows a ground-up build that took two full years of metal fabrication and mechanical work. Workshop founder Batistinha took a 1976 coupe and reworked every system and turned a dated Brazilian classic into a modern street machine.

What powers this customized Maverick Super is a Ford 302 small-block V8 that breathes through aluminum cylinder heads and a FiTech fuel-injection system to generate roughly 340 horsepower. The team tucked all electrical wiring out of sight beneath the front fenders, which highlights the Ford Racing valve covers and dual-flow K&N air filter. A PerTronix distributor, MSD ignition, serpentine belt pulley kit, and a large aluminum radiator keep the powerplant running cool.

Inside the cabin, custom BTS bucket seats developed with Rally Design join a retro Lotse steering wheel, an ODG instrument cluster, and an integrated A/C unit. A floor-shifted TREMEC manual transmission handles gear changes, while reinforced body plates anchor the three-point seat belts.

This 1976 Custom Maverick Super grips the pavement on staggered 18-inch American Racing wheels, utilizing modified front fender openings to run 3.5 degrees of positive caster for sharper road handling.

Aggressive exterior styling unites vintage cues, pairing a Phase 1 front grille and Mach 1-style hood scoop with upper Phase 2 side stripes. Tucked fiberglass bumpers sit flush against the body, complemented by a shortened front chin spoiler and green-tinted glass.

In the trunk, modified floor sheetmetal houses a reproduction Mustang fuel tank, while an electronic cutout valve in the stainless-steel exhaust uncorks the open V8 sound.

Dialing in a vintage platform with Bilstein dampers, disc brakes, and a tight Borgeson steering box creates a balanced machine built for real highway cruising. Rolling out in this Maverick street machine sounds like a great way to get out and have some fun.
