On Friday August 24th, Ford Racing in conjunction with the Roy Hill Drag Racing School, hosted the first Cobra Jet Owner’s Experience at Milan Dragway. New for the 2013 Cobra Jet model, the program provides new Cobra Jet owners access to instruction on the operation of their new Cobra Jet and the opportunity to obtain their NHRA competition license. In NHRA competition, the 2013 Cobra Jet in supercharged trim has already clicked off several passes in the 9.20 et @ 130 mph range.
A total of thirteen 2013 Cobra Jet owners were in attendance for test/tune and instruction, many already competition license holders. Five owners completed the necessary runs and sign-off for their Super Stock competition license under the instruction of Roy Hill and special guest instructor Robert Patrick, driver of the Purvis Ford NHRA Pro Mod Mustang.
We’re working with Ford to really take care of the new Cobra Jet buyers,” said Roy Hill. “They can come in, get their license, and learn from the Ford engineers as well as some of my people, all included with their purchase. It’s the perfect way for the new owners to become familiar with their Cobra Jets.”
A special thanks and congratulations to 2013 Cobra Jet owners, Ted Hughes, Mike Skinner, Matt Smytke, Jim Cooper, and Gardner Stone who all finalized their runs and competition license paperwork for submission to NHRA!
