With the 2015 Ford Mustang due to hit sales floors soon, information is still trickling regarding the next-generation pony, and now EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has been revealed on certain models. Depending on how much driving is done, plus the cost of gas, these numbers are important to know when purchasing a new 2015 Ford Mustang, especially if fuel economy is a major consideration in the purchase.
Of course, some will buy the V8 for performance no matter what the EPA data may be, but for some, this data may be beneficial for saving dollars at the pump and choosing the model that fits best. While the top-dog V8 model isn’t listed, it is enough to make a guess of what the EPA data may be.
What we do know is what is on the window stickers for the 2015 Mustang EcoBoost with a manual transmission, as well as the base V6 models with both manual and automatic transmissions, all thanks to Mustang6g forum member zackmd1.
The breakdown for MPG is as follows:
- EcoBoost Mustang (manual) – City 22 / Highway 31
- Base V6 Mustang (manual) – City 17 / Highway 28
- Base V6 Mustang (auto) – City 19 / Highway 28
As aforementioned, if looking for to purchase that new Mustang but a lot of travel is needed, it is now easier to pick what model would best fit different driving styles. The numbers are not that far off from the EcoBoost and the V6 models, but it could make a lot of difference when packing on the miles. Obviously, the V8 model will have lower numbers than these listed.
