This weekend the annual Woodward Dream Cruise will take over the Motor City, drawing American car enthusiasts from every corner of the country to this one-road car show. Automakers and private owners will have their extensive car collections on display, and as always Ford’s Mustang Alley will be on hand to show customers the latest go-fast parts.
But with the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang less than a year away, Ford is putting on an even bigger show for the Woodward Dream Cruise. Ford will have an estimated 800 Mustangs on display at Mustang Alley, as well as a full lineup of SVT vehicles and the new EcoBoost-powered F-150 Tremor.
The Woodward Dream Cruise is one of the largest single-day car shows in the world. The show regularly draws over 1.5 million spectators and 40,000 show cars to the stretch of Woodward Ave. between Detroit’s 8 Mile Rd and Orchard Lake. Ford will be on hand with its Mustang Alley setup, which will feature some 800 classic Mustangs, as well as every performance car in the Ford lineup.
That means not only with the 662 horsepower Shelby GT500 be on display, but so will the the Focus ST, Fiesta ST, F-150 Raptor, and the all-new, EcoBoost V6-powered F-150 Tremor. As usual, Mustang Alley will also have a full display of Ford Racing crate engines, performance parts, and appearance enhancers for Mustang fans to gawk at and buy. There will be plenty of savvy Ford staff on hand as well to answer questions about the parts for sale. Ford has even included several members of the aftermarket in the display including ROUSH Performance and Shelby American.
The ribbon cutting for Mustang Alley will be preceded by a keynote speech from Ford marketing manager Jacques Brent at 4:00 pm Friday August 16. Will you be one of the more than 1.5 million car enthusiasts heading to the Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend? If so, make sure you check out Mustang Alley; it sounds like a good time to us.
