It has been a while since Ford had a hand in the sub-compact car market, their last effort ending with the embarrassing Ford Aspire in the early 90’s. But over in Europe, compacts and hot hatchbacks are all the rage, and the Ford Fiesta among the most popular of these models. Ford finally saw to bringing the Fiesta to America as a decent car, and it has been well-received for the most part. There is even an EcoBoost-powered Fiesta ST Concept that may or may not make it to showroom floors, one day.
In the meantime, if you’re looking for a fast, fun Fiesta, why not this one-of-a-kind Cosworth-powered all-wheel drive Fiesta from
Pistonheads? It can be yours for the low, low price of £53,000, or about $82,000.
$82,000. For a Ford Fiesta
Granted, there is a good reason for the high price, as this is likely the most powerful Fiesta in the world right now, boasting over 550 horsepower that spin all four wheels. From what we can gather, this is actually a Fiesta shell over a Cosworth 4+4 body, with a five-speed manual transmission sending power from the 2.0 liter to the tires.
In regards to safety and the interior, no expense was spared. Racing seats and a roll cage provide protection, and while the brakes and suspension have been brought up to par for such a feisty Fiesta. Best of all, it is green…at least in color, if not environmental friendliness. But who cares with 550 horsepower on tap! Tee real question though is…would you pay over $80,00 for a Ford Fiesta?
