You’re sitting inside your home, watching TV at a higher-than-normal volume level, and relaxing. When all of the sudden, you hear a loud sound. A sound as if something heavy had just landed on the roof of your house.
What would you do? Would you immediately head outside to survey the damage? Or would you look out of a nearby window first? Joyce Kingsley, an 83-year-old homeowner from Woodhull, Michigan – found herself in this very same situation, as NBC 25News explained.
Kingsley comments after hearing the initial sound, saying, “I was just watching TV inside. I had it up pretty loud, but this was much louder.” The sound she was referring to of course, was the sound of the S197-generation V6 Mustang crashing into the roof of her home.
The Michigan Police Department commented that the driver of that Mustang was traveling on Michigan interstate 69 in Shiawassee county, when the driver began experiencing medical difficulties. The driver of the Mustang passed through several bushes, trees, and even a fence before the car became embedded on the roof of Kingsley’s home.
Michigan State Trooper, Ben Rowell says, “The driver is extremely lucky” – referring to the driver only requiring treatment for low blood sugar when examined. Kingsley comments, “It could have been a lot worse. I’m glad everyone is all right.”
Kingsley has plans to covere the damaged areas on the roof with a tarp, until it can be fixed. We’re going to assume the driver of the Mustang hopefully has insurance, and that his insurance company will be covering the damage caused to Kingsley’s house.
