It’s an interesting question… what happens to all those custom cars that get built every year for major aftermarket industry shows across the country? We’ve seen a few of them show up at Barrett-Jackson auctions and some cannot be registered because the OEM didn’t put a VIN plate on the vehicle before shipping it out.
Doubtless, others are jealously tucked away out of sight and some may get used from time to time for special occasions. Few likely get transformed into daily drivers, because a ‘free’ car like that inevitably ends up costing you many tens of thousands of dollars before it ever hits the SEMA Show floor.
Built for the 2006 SEMA Show by Shannon Wall and the folks at Western Motorsports, this Mustang street machine puts out 600 horsepower from a Aston Martin V12 mill, and now it’s available for you to purchase.
This Vanquishd street show car started life as a Mustang body-in-white and was put together with all the good stuff, including a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission, KW coilover suspension, Baer Extreme 6-piston calipers on 14-inch brake rotors and custom headers with 3-inch Magnaflow exhaust. Without a doubt, he number of labor hours in this car aren’t even close to being covered by the $79,900 asking price.
The staggered fitment of iForged 19×9 and 19×12 Essen Wheels, shod with Michelin Pilot Sport Tires (275/35ZR19 front, 345/30ZR19 rear) give this Mustang a stance to match its prowess. Inside, you’ll find an AIM Strada electronic dashboad and datalogger, as well as Cobra Missano leather and Alcantra seats. When the sun is shining, you’ll certainly appreciate that it’s all topped off with a Classic Design Concepts Glassback roof. The deep blue exterior finish comes courtesy of BASF’s R-M Carrizma Candy Blue paint.
The car is reported to be in new condition with under 2000 kms. According to WMS, it has won many awards including World of Wheels Best in Class, ISCA Outstanding Street Machine, Popular Hot Rodding as well as appearing in many magazines including a 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords feature.
