The numbers just keep getting better and better as 2011 Mustang owners line up their mods and get to the track.
This owner, beefcake, from Corral.net is reporting high tens with a Vortech supercharger with air-to-air intercooler, 4.10 gears and ET Street radials. The Kona Blue GT also benefits from Stainless Works 1-7/8″ headers, and a visit to Evolution Performance for a Jon Lund tune for 93 octane gas. A trip to the dyno showed 528 RWHP and 448 RWTQ at just under nine psi boost.
The Vortech kit comes with a V-3 Si-trim head unit like the previous 4.6L 3-valve kit, though the shots of this install looks to possibly be a prototype since it does not include the molded intake tube kit that Vortech is advertising with the kit. Also Vortech will be offering this kit in a 20th anniversary limited edition system that comes completely black powder coated.
As you see, the track performance claims are well documented with time slips and the video below. It sure took a lot longer than this to get the first 5.0-liter engines into the tens. Now, we’re living the dream.
