“This is our 2016 Mustang GT development car,” Brent White, owner of Brenspeed told us after making a low 10-second pass at this year’s NMRA World Finals event.
“We use this car as a development tool for our mail-order packages, along with another 2015 Mustang we have. This is our automatic car of the bunch; the point behind this car was that we started with a Roush RS3 setup, which utilized their Phase 1 kit. This was boasting 670 horsepower, and we started the racing season earlier this year running the car just like that.”

Making a few changes to its tuning calibration, the team at Brenspeed was able to accomplish a 10.290 at 134.14 MPH pass.
“It includes our custom tuning calibration using SCT, but is still setup for the stock engine,” Brent explained in regards to their development package. “This car is running 10.20s in the quarter-mile, at more than 134 MPH. It’s a stock Coyote engine with Kooks long tube headers, a Circle-D torque converter, factory 3.55 gears, a Ford Racing throttlebody, and the Roush Performance 2.3-liter TVS supercharger – just like it comes from the factory as a Roush RS3.”
“Besides that, the car is completely stock. It’s full weight, and still has all of the necessary equipment you need to be running that fast [legally]. It weighs 4,040 pounds with the driver, and that’s with all of the options. We’re also running a 17-inch Race Star wheels on all four corners, paired to a set of Mickey Thompson tires.”
Brent detailed that they will be releasing the kit very soon, and that this package is expected to increase boost; include an upgraded fuel system, and a custom tuning calibration.
