If you have ever dreamed of owning a classic Boss or Mach from the late ’60s and early ’70s, one look at recent auction prices might change your mind. Don’t fret, however. If owning one of these cars is your dream, you’ll have a chance to live it with a new, officially Ford licensed version of the 1969-1970 Boss 302, Boss 429, or Mach 1 from Classic Recreations.
We chose to offer these new models because we wanted to expand our Ford offerings beyond just Shelbys. — Jason Engel, Classic Recreations
You can opt for the company to build your continuation car from a real classic body or using one of the Ford-licensed reproduction bodies. Depending on the model you want, you can then choose between a variety of powertrains. A 363-cube stroker or a Coyote 5.0-liter from Ford Performance can power the Boss 302, while the Boss 429 is offered with a modernized, fuel-injected Boss 429. Mach 1 fans can opt for any engine that Classic Recreations offers, ranging from an old-school FE to an ultra-modern EcoBoost engine.
“We chose to offer these new models because we wanted to expand our Ford offerings beyond just Shelbys,” Classic Recreations owner Jason Engel explained. “The BOSS 429 is one of the coolest and rarest Mustangs ever produced, but they have gotten so valuable that most owners won’t drive them. This offers people the chance to own an incredibly rare car that they can actually drive, and with modern chassis and engine tech these cars will actually be faster and easier to drive than the original.”
We truly live in wonderful times. From the latest high-tech machines on dealer lots to reproductions of the storied classics, Mustang fans can find the dream cars to make their fantasies come true.
