Chip Foose Tapped To Design WD-40 F-150 For SEMA Cares Charity

Though he has been flying a bit under the radar lately, Chip Foose is still one of the top custom car designers in America, and even the world. By all accounts he is also a remarkably grounded and likable guy, and he has done plenty of work for charitable organizations seeking to make a positive difference in the world.

One of the most visible charities Foose has donated his talents to is the SEMA Cares program which, along with WD-40 (possibly one of the greatest unpatented products on the planet) has auctioned off five vehicles and raised over $575,000 for noble causes. Foose has designed three of the past WD-40/SEMA Cares vehicles, and for his fourth act this living legend will design an off-road F-150 that rather than be auctioned off, will be raffled.

The decision to raffle off what is sure to be an incredible custom truck gives regular Joes a chance to get in on the charitable action. Last year Foose actually designed a classic 1953 Ford F-100, along with a 2013 Ford F-350 Super Duty for the WD-40/SEMA Cares auction, and the truck theme is holding tight for what will be the sixth-consecutive year of this wonderful charity program. The ’53 F-100 sold in January for $170,000.

Details on the Foose-designed truck are few and far between, but will be based on the premium 2013 F-150 Lariat. Raffle tickets will start at $50 each when they go on sale November 1st, alongside the official reveal of what is sure to be a badass truck with that certain Chip Foose flair. If you don’t take a shot and buy a ticket, you’re missing out on a rare chance to own a vehicle designed by a legendary car designer, unless you happen to be independently/ridiculously wealthy. For the rest of us, a Foose raffle is the best chance we have.
