If you’re in the market for a Fox body Mustang, here is quite the eye-catcher. Sitting on a 1978 Ford F-150 chassis, this Mustang sits high above the rest on 33-inch Super Swamper mud tires wrapped around black spoke wheels.
Stuffed inside of the engine bay is a rebuilt 1978 351M Ford engine connected to a NP 435 four-speed transmission and 285 transfer case. A Dana 44 front axle with manual lockout hubs, disc brakes, and a Detroit Locker finish it out.
According to the listing, the body has been repainted black, and the frame was stripped to the bone and slathered a sky blue using a Rustoleum oil base. With a patriotic theme of red, white, and blue, this ride reads “Made in USA” on the rear bumper.
Open the door to a Maroon interior with bucket seats. Providing safety is a heavy gauge square-tube roll cage married to the frame. The driver seat features a five-point safety racing harness (connected to the roll cage) and includes all original belts. Removable/foldable steel safety mesh sits behind the front seats to protect from any loose cargo. Folded rear seats are there along with a matching spare tire and chrome 4-way lug wrench mounted under the rear hatch which includes new lift struts.
The center console has been modified to accept the truck 4-speed shifter and transfer case shifter. Audio comes from Pioneer CD player mounted vertically in the console and a Sony 10-disc remote CD changer in the rear where the original spare tire once sat. Factory speaker locations include upgrades and a Bazooka bass tube. Custom wiring allows for more amps and subwoofers.
Besides the 351M Ford truck engine, other features include equal-length dual exhaust with Cherry Bomb mufflers. It has been given a brand new clutch, a tune, fresh oil change, topped with new fluids, and a custom jetted carburetor. With the truck engine stuffed inside, it has plenty of pull for the lightweight Fox-body.
Suspension comes from the F-150 Skyjacker 4-inch lift with all red poly-urethane bushings, Skyjacker long-travel shocks and steering links. The roll-control sway bar link is custom-made and the rear uses Rancho 6000 shock with poly bushings.
It can be yours for $9,999 or fair trade!
