These days to have an 11-second Mustang isn’t that difficult. It seems almost too easy. The cars are so good these days it’s almost like a person can sneeze on a 2015 GT and run 11s.
For Coastal Dyno’s Sam Lippincott, the ’15 GT is by no means his first rodeo. He’s been working on Mustangs for years, and has owned a slew of fast Mustangs. Lippincott has owned the ’15 for a few months now, and it’s the same color as Coastal’s shop sticker, which we call Coastal orange.
To run in the 11s, the list of mods is disgustingly short. The car has a JLT Performance cold air, a Shaftmasters aluminum one-piece driveshaft, an MGW shifter, a full American Racing Headers exhaust system, Ford Racing axles, and an HP Tune. The car has Weld big and littles with Mickey Thompson ET Street 275/40/17s out back. With Lippincott’s tune the car the made 440 rwhp on his Mustang Dyno.
Leading up to the NMRA Spring Break Shootout, Lippincot ran an 11.87 at 115 mph. Not to bad for a full-weight GT with minimal bolt-ons.
