Like a Wild Mustang roaming the dusty plains of the Old West, you can find Craig Hagenbaugh cruising the San Diego coastline in his untamed pony. Hagenbaugh’s blood runs true blue for his “Deep Impact Blue 2013 Mustang GT”.
This is Hagenbaugh’s ninth pony. As a Marine Corps veteran who is currently a Police Officer, the Mustang, has served has his stress release.
Hagenbaugh began modifying his Mustang by swapping out the factory cold air intake for one from Airaid. Suspension is handled by an Airlift system. WhiteLine Upper & Lower control arms, and WhiteLine Watts Links hook things up in the rear.
Inside the car is a Barton shifter. A one piece aluminum driveshaft was intalled to help reduce rotating mass and improve durability over the factory two-piece design. With all the mods this ’13 GT is now able to get two-tenths improvement in quarter-mile ETs.
Concept One wheels along with a set of NITTO INVO tires provide the rolling stock. Not only do they look good, but Hagenbaugh says they’re better for launches at the track. The factory performance pack Brembo brakes continue to provide the car’s stopping power.
Hagenbaugh has taken things up a notch further recently with a Magnuson supercharger. Getting air into that huffer faster is a CFM cold air intake and L&M throttle-body. Injector Dynamics ID1000 fuel Injectors and a Vortech Boost-a-Pump provide the fuel. Advanced Engine Development tapped the keys and after a tune on the dyno the pony is now producing 595 hp with 497 ft-lbs. of torque to the rear tires.
Some of the exterior changes were the install of a TruFiber three-inch carbon fiber cowl hood, 3M carbon fiber vinyl wrap on the roof and hash marks on the fenders, along with an upgrade to a RTR front chin spoiler. A CDC upper grill and a 2013 GT500 rear fascia, along with a Roush high-flow lower grill delete complete the exterior looks.
Hagenbaugh’s car has the looks and performance to keep up with just about anything that chooses to take him on. With a 2012 appearance at SEMA, he’s looking for this ride to make a sophomore appearance this year.
Hagenbaugh’s GT is the latest from RateMyRidez in June’s Mustang Madness.
