On any given day there are hundreds of Mustangs up for sale on eBay. It can be hard for a particular Mustang to stand out unless it has an outrageous asking price, or is a particularly famous piece. We here at StangTV love both the exotic and the expensive Mustangs, but there is something about a simple, clean, well-done Mustang without an overabundance of modifications that we really like.
So when we were tipped off to this particular Mustang, built by AutoCouture Motoring of Hillsdale, New Jersey, up for sale on eBay, we figured we would ask the opinions of our esteemed readers. Is this Mustang well done…or in need of more modifications?
The car is built and owned by AutoCouture owner Cameron Arki, whose shop has an emphasis on European performance cars (mostly BMW’s if the pictures are any indication.) Even so, Cameron has a soft spot in his heart for Mustangs, and has performed a number of bolt-on modifications to this 2011 Mustang GT that boosts its performance levels, without boosting the price (too much…) Cameron called it the “Bahn Animal” and it is well on its way to being one quick pony.
The suspension received the most attention to be sure, with a number of STEEDA products replacing the stock Ford parts. This includes sport springs, front struts, adjustable front and rear sway bars, rear billet control arms, and even Saleen replica wheels. The engine modifications are on the lighter side, including a STEEDA short-throw shifter, a lightened flywheel, and a DSS driveshaft capable of holding up to 900 horsepower. Right now the ProCharger system and Boss 302 intake, and custom exhaust system help churn out about 600+ horsepower.
Meanwhile, the exterior was modified with a ROUSH rear fascia and side skirts, a CDC front lip spoiler, and other body bits. It’s even got carbon fiber fenders and a hood, dropping off quite a few pounds. A built-up motor was in the works, but Cameron will soon be a father, and finds he must part with his beloved Mustang in the name of fatherhood. A noble move to be sure…and a chance for some lucky fellow to pick up where Cameron leaves off.
