The Ford Mustang is a perennial performer, a car able to take on many engines and modifications in the pursuit of speed. We don’t often associate the Mustang with many hot rodding practices, like chopped roofs and channeled chassis. Do it wrong, and you’ll have an unsalvageable monstrosity. Do it right though, and you have today’s eBay Find of the Day.
This chopped-and-sectioned 1969 Mustang sits a lot lower than your average ‘Stang, but we love the looks…and the big-block 428 V8 under the hood.
A chopped roof is self-explanatory; the roofline on this Mustang has been lowered a full two-inches (we hope the next buyer isn’t too tall). In addition to the chopped look, this ’69 has been sectioned – a hot rodding technique of removing a horizontal section of the body work to make the car look slimmer. A full three-inches has been sectioned from this Mustang, giving it a low and sleek look.
Sitting just 41-inches off the ground at its tallest, this chopped and sectioned Mustang is a unique ride
Under the hood is the aforementioned 428 big-block V8, backed by a TKO 600 5-speed manual transmission hooked up to a Ford 8.8 rear end. This custom Mustang packs four-wheel disc brakes and a full leather interior, helping solidify its stance as one-of-a-kind. We’re in love with this look, and we can’t help but wonder why there are so few chopped and sectioned Mustangs out there. The starting bid is $55,000, which begs the question; would you ever do this to your ‘Stang?
