Working in a performance and tuning shop is a dream job for many gearheads. Working on high-performance cars, whether they’re old or new, is an infinitely rewarding experience. Even better though is taking said cars out for a fast and fun test drive, you know, just to make sure everything is up-to-snuff. Eventually though, cars used for research and development must hit the auction circuit so the shop can make room for new projects.
Michigan based tuner Livernois Motorsports is undergoing a sort of “spring cleaning”, putting not one, not two, but three distinctly different Mustangs up on eBay for sale. We are having a hard time picking a favorite, so maybe you can help. All three cars have been used by the company to some extent for research and development.
We’ll start with this sexy classic first, a ‘67 Mustang fastback resto-mod with a Livernois built 302 under the hood, backed by a C4 automatic transmission. Wth disc brakes all around, an air suspension, and plenty of modern creature comforts like a CD/MP3 player, Livernois is asking $59,000 for this updated classic.
If late models are more to your liking then how about this 2008 Shelby GT500 packing a whopping 1,000 horsepower? Called the GT1000R, this is another Livernois special featuring a 358 cubic-inch V8 and a 4.0 liter supercharger. Featured in magazines and across the net, this Mustang has just 2,500 miles on it, and is actually going for a little less than the ‘67, with an asking price of $55,000.
For the big spender who has to have something truly rare though, there is this 2012 Mustang Super Snake 50th Anniversary Edition , equipped with every option imaginable. This is a truly top of the line Mustang, with just 125 miles on the odometer and one of only 100 (50 black, 50 white) ever made. The price tag for this bad mama-jama? $159,000.
That is quite the collection, all told, and the guys at Livernois must have a lot of fun “tuning” these cars for the road, the auctions are currently live on eBay but end this week, so get your bid in now.
