We’re lucky enough to have a job that we truly enjoy, so going to work has never been much of a challenge (especially when your office is your living room.) There are some people who have much harder jobs than us though, and getting up and going to work isn’t always exactly what you want to do first thing in the morning. So in addition to vacation time and sick days, we’ve all probably taken at least a handful of “mental health days.”
But not Hung On (really, that’s his name) who is an employee at a warehouse for the Owens and Minor medical distribution company. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that On was rewarded a 2011 Mustang for a year of perfect attendance at the warehouse. Not a bad trade off for not taking any sick days, eh?
Hung On is one of 200 employees who work at Owens and Minor’s Industry, California warehouse, and one of 87 entrants in a drawing for the Mustang. Most of the entrants had just a single ticket in the drawing, which they received for perfect attendance during one quarter in 2010. Hung On was one of eight employees who had perfect attendance during the entire year of 2010, which netted him eight tickets in the raffle. Even so, nobody ever expects to actually win a raffle car, right? So imagine his surprise when it was announced that he was the winner of this brand new automobile. On hopes to inspire other employees with his example, and the chance of winning a brand new Mustang would be incentive enough for us to show up to work every day.
