If there is one effective way to build loyalty for Ford products that goes far beyond producing a ridiculous American Idol commercial, it’s getting children involved in working on your classic Ford. Now, you can’t force a child to pick up a wrench, but you can generate an interest when your child models your own actions and behavior. Galaxie owner, Harold Osmer has realized this with his 12 year old daugther, Leana. Lately, she’s been helping him get a stereo installed in the family Galaxie. Harold says it’s not only helpful having someone around who is small enough to wiggle into the tight spaces, but tells us that spending time in the garage with her has been great for the both of them.

Harold charishes these times with his daughter because he believes that in a few years, when Leana is a teenager, she may not want anything to do with him.
Maybe the Galaxie experience will serve to keep the communication lines open between the two of them. Either way, they’re having a great time now. Perhaps one day Leana will own her very own Galaxie or other Ford product.
Harold is an award-winning author of three books devoted to Southern California auto racing history. Check out his website, he even made an appearance on “California’s Gold” with Huell Howser. One of my personal favorite television shows.
