If there’s one shop known for fast Mustangs its Evolution Performance. The little shop in Aston, Pennsylvania turns out some of the fastest, most powerful Mustangs in the land.
This 2015 Mustang GT shows Evolution isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Evolution’s Fred Cook says the engine is stock, but beyond the engine, a lot of work went into making 900 rwhp. The six-speed manual GT boasts a custom-built Vortech V-7 JT-Trim supercharger system with an Evolution-built Super Stealth plenum, an American Racing Headers full exhaust, ID1000 fuel injectors, a Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump, and a TiAL 50mm blow-off valve.
To keep inlet air temperatures manageable, Evolution added its own air-to-water intercooler system to work with the Super Stealth plenum. With a Lund Racing custom tune, the combo makes 900-rwhp and at an as-raced weight of 3,905 pounds, the car ran a 10.92 at 132 mph on its third pass. We were able to see the car in person at the NMRA Spring Break Shootout this past weekend with Evolution’s Nelson Whitlock at the wheel, and it’s as nice as it is fast.
