Last year Shelby American began the process of moving their long time headquarters in Las Vegas across town, to a facility that could better handle the expanding line of high-performance Fords being put together. This new facility is now up and operational, and the very first 2014 Shelby Super Snake has just rolled off of the all-new assembly line.
The car, owned by the Carroll Shelby Trust and painted a crowd-favorite Grabber Blue, will be sent to the new Carroll Shelby Automotive Museum in Southern California. It’s a big day for this old brand.
The 850 horsepower Grabber Blue Super Snake was delivered the day after Christmas, December 26th, 2013, making it a great late present to the all-new museum. The non-profit historical facility will teach about American performance cars in general, and Carroll Shelby’s role in particular. The Super Snake will feature prominently as one of Carroll’s greatest later achievements.
We’ve already covered the post-title Super Snake package in great detail before, but to rehash, the package starts at $28,995 on top of the cost of a 2014 Shelby GT500. An optional supercharger upgrade boosts power to 850 ponies from 662, and improvements to the suspension and handling help turn this modern Shelby into a real corner carver.
As for the museum? Sounds like someplace we need to check out soon.
