In a winner winner state of mind we can report Ford Motor Company has good reason to celebrate with the recent release of January sales numbers. Up 15-percent in total comparable retail sales results to the prior year, for the month of January, Ford not only saw record increases in the movement of the F-150 series, Escape, Explorer and the best Lincoln sales in five years, but also saw the iconic Ford Mustang more than doubled its sales compared to January 2013 with 8,694 units sold.
With an investment of more than fifty-million dollars into the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in 2013 for the preparation of the launch of the S500 we say the folks at Ford are likely over joyed with the sales results of the Ford Mustang with a 124-percent increase of vehicles sold compared to January 2013. A best of January since 2007 Ford’s sales analyst Erich Merkle said that the Ford Mustang was high in demand in every region of the country, especially Los Angeles, which recorded a sales growth of over 150% for the vehicle.
A year having now passed since the unveiling of the all new 6th generation Mustang, with momentum strong and excitement high, it is likely to continue to see the brand not only break old records but set new ones as well. This will be interesting to follow as the Mustang expands into 120 countries across the globe.
Stomping the competition in a take no prisoners approach the total number of Mustangs sold during the first month of 2015, was just shy of around 900 units, nearly the number of Chevrolet Camaros and Dodge Challengers sold combined for January. Handing the competition a pummeling, with the Challenger taking a pretty big blow from the Mustang, as it also launches on a new platform, Ford continues the celebration into 2015 with stellar results. With the recent reveal of the GT350 and GT350R variants it looks as though the competition will continue to struggle in catching up to the Ford Mustang through the duration of 2015 as the Blue Oval continues its stampede into the world market.
